Microsoft изменит Word…

Апелляционный суд США обязал Microsoft изъять из продажи с местного рынка Microsoft Word в его текущем виде до 11 января 2010 г. Он согласился с решением суда низшей инстанции, вынесенным ранее, и отверг доводы Microsoft, высказанные в свою защиту, сообщает Reuters. По словам официальных представителей Microsoft, требование суда будет выполнено в срок.

Напомним, в марте 2007 г. американская компания i4i подала иск на Microsoft, обвинив ее в нарушении патента, связанного с технологией использования формата XML.

В мае 2009 г. техасский суд признал факт нарушения патентного законодательства в Microsoft Word 2003 и Word 2007 и обязал Microsoft выплатить держателю патента крупную сумму в качестве компенсации.

[CNews.ru] Изобретатель интернета Тим Бернерс-Ли (Tim Berners-Lee) во время своего выступления на четвертом Форуме по проблемам управления интернетом (IFG), проходящем при поддержке ООН в городе Шарм эль-Шейх, Египет, объявил о создании новой организации World Wide Web Foundation.

Google wins googlewebmarketing.com domain name

Google , an American public corporation, earning revenue from advertising related to its Internet search, e-mail, online mapping and many others submitted a complaint to the National Arbitration Forum,requesting the domain name googlewebmarketing.com to be transferred to them . It is well known that Google owns many trademark registrations for “Google” all over the world. That’s why the company accused the respondent, Absolutee Corp. Ltd. of registering a domain name that is confusingly similar to its trademark .

Seek To Improve The Checkout Process

The majority of online retailers (79%) say improving the checkout process is one of their top priorities for the remainder of the year, according to a new Forrester Research report.

Online retailers are also focusing on shipping, specifically they want to increase the transparency of shipping charges to reduce shopping cart abandonment.

The survey found, 88 percent of retailers will focus on providing more shipping information within the next year, including details when a customer can expect to receive a package and information about when items have left the warehouse…

Russians are investing another $100 mln. In Facebook

Tonight, it’s almost certain that bars around Facebook’s new headquarters in Stanford Research Park will be busy.  Tomorrow, the offices of Facebook’s employees may be full of new toys and gadgets.  It seems that Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies wants to buy $100 million of common stock from employees.
